On Wednesday I visited 4 thrifts and I only found this beautiful mod ashtrays and lighter set made by Pierre Cardin.
Later that same day I decided to stop by an antique's mall where I usually find great items. It is a hit and miss kind of place, but I figured I was due a good find. I was right!
I KNOW! Unbelievable to find all of these wonderful Eva Zeisel's Tomorrow's Classic pieces together! They are the real deal (I mean they are the original ones made by Hall China and not the reissue made by Crate and Barrel) Most of the pieces are serving pieces, which are more difficult to find. This particular dealer has exquisite taste and great prices, so I always visit his booth first. Listed HERE.
I also found this whimsical bowl by Bjorn Wiinblad for Rosenthal. It is lovely!
And to add more beauty to my day, a piece of Italian Pee Dee glass. Glass is one of my weaknesses. I cannot pass up a piece like this.
Talking about beautiful glass, I picked this medium size Flora bowl from Craigslist. Brand new in box. The lady that sold it to me had more things for sale, but the only other find that came with me was this group of fierce Danish vikings.
Do you notice a pattern here? No thrift store finds so far. All I can find at my local thriftstore is Target overstock. It is really sad.
I found a new coffee table for the house at a nearby estate sale. Funny thing is that I got there an hour before the sale began and a reseller that I've dubbed "furniture queen" was first in line (of course she was, she always is). I was discouraged as there were not that many things I wanted from the sale, I just wanted the coffee table. Luck was on my side once again, as she was interested in the bedroom furniture and she bypassed MY coffee table. I actually like "furniture queen" and I want to be like her when I grow up.
Isn't it pretty? A long surfboard lane acclaim with double dovetails. It needs some TLC but is is in pretty good shape. I will share a better picture once it is all cleaned up and ready.
And finally, my last find of the week. A thrift store find! A beautifully crafted studio bowl. So light and delicate. I have been working in trying to ID the maker with some of my knowledgeable friends. I might have a lead, so I have sent an email to a curator that might be able to confirm or deny our suspicions. Of course I will write a blog post about it once we know!
This is it for this week. I hope to get a lot of new listings going this coming week. What did you find?
Sharing with A Living Space, Remnant and Sir Thrift a Lot.
